Committed to sustainable fresh produce
Explore our dedicated practices for a better tomorrow
At Global, sustainability sits at the heart of how we work, from field to shelf. We believe that a responsible, resilient supply chain is essential to securing the future of fresh produce and delivering long-term value for our customers, growers, and partners.
For us, sustainability is about more than protecting the environment. It’s a holistic commitment that brings together environmental stewardship, ethical sourcing, social responsibility, and supply chain resilience. We work closely with a diverse network of forward-thinking growers who share our vision for a more sustainable, innovative, and inclusive industry one that cares for people as much as it does for the planet.
Sustainability at Global is built on long-term partnerships, shared accountability, and continuous improvement. Every piece of fruit we deliver represents a commitment to doing things the right way grown, packed, and transported with respect for people, planet, and profit.
Human Rights and Ethical Standards
We are proud to work exclusively with growers who are SEDEX or SIZA registered, with many undergoing independent ethical audits to ensure compliance with strict labour, welfare, and transparency standards expected by our retail customers.
Together with our partners, we’re actively measuring and reducing carbon emissions across our global supply chain as part of our journey toward lower-carbon operations.
All packhouses within our network are independently audited to Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) standards such as BRC and IFS, ensuring robust systems for food safety, traceability, and quality management.
We are also focused on reducing packaging impact, prioritising recyclable materials, and cutting waste wherever possible.
We remain fully committed to the principles of the Modern Slavery Act, ensuring transparency and fairness throughout every part of our business and supply chain.
Our growers operate to GLOBALG.A.P. assurance standards, safeguarding the environment and protecting wildlife habitats. Efficient use of natural resources is embedded in daily practice from precision irrigation that delivers only what crops need, to renewable energy solutions like solar-powered packhouses and cold stores.
Many of our growers are also adopting regenerative farming principles, focusing on soil health, biodiversity, and reduced chemical inputs, ensuring their land remains productive and resilient for generations to come.
We are continuously improving how we manage waste across our operations and supply base. Our packaging strategy targets full recyclability, while our carbon reduction roadmap aligns with Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) principles, with the goal of achieving net zero by 2050 across Scopes 1, 2 and 3.
Comprehensive risk assessments across our global supply chain help us anticipate challenges, protect resources, and support continuous progress toward a more sustainable future.
